Education is this century’s top social justice matter. This is good because the well-being and success of each learner is of paramount importance. With this comes the expectation that each child is entitled to an equal and robust education. ‘Equal’ means that each learner has access to top notch opportunities with educators in well-equipped and evolved environments that harness the passion and ability to leapfrog each student to his or her highest levels of achievement. ‘Robust’ refers to the personalized teaching and learning format customized for each learner to reach the highest level goals.
This is tough duty for schools today. It cannot be achieved in an ecosystem that was created to serve a population from yesterday. The goals are reachable through focused communities of practice and the power of technology. When each student has his or her own personal, portable technologies, with uninterrupted access to information, the possibilities are endless. Students’ one to one experiences, inside and outside the school setting will help them achieve success, contribute to the economy and revitalize innovation and entrepreneurship in America.
At its core, One-to-One Institute’s mission is to serve organizations in their quest to meaningfully implement appropriate technology tools so that a one-to-one education environment is achieved. This is real school reform, as to do this well – the entire school ‘system’ must realign to authentically create a learner-centric purpose.
